Built with baltic birch plywood, this table is an exploration in non-traditional uses of materials to create new forms of beauty in furniture design. The patterns on the surface of the table are formed from the layers within the plywood, often deemed a material that furniture designers wish to hide with veneers or more 'finished' edges.
After a heated argument with my father (an avid woodworker in his spare time), I decided to upstage his outdated views on hiding plywood edges.

pvcycle chair
A chair designed to take advantage of scrap PVC pipes. When 'recycled' using traditional processes, PVC is extremely harmful to the environment and emits very toxic fumes. Instead, the cut-off ends of PVC taken from construction sites can be used to form a new piece of furniture.
This prototype was made with foam pool noodles as upholstery material, allowing the chair to function as a piece of casual outdoor furniture. The finished chair is designed to be upholstered with secondhand tweed suits and silk ties.
